"My journey as an artist has unfolded in ways I never could have imagined. What began as a love for creating visual art has gradually expanded into many different forms of artistic expression, each one opening a new door and teaching me something meaningful about myself and my creative voice. One of the most surprising and rewarding paths has been becoming both an author and an illustrator. Through this work, I have discovered the joy of bringing stories to life not only through images, but also through words that invite others into the worlds I imagine. Everyone has loved each character and depiction I have created, which has made this journey even more meaningful and has encouraged me to keep sharing my imagination with others. It has been a truly beautiful adventure—one filled with growth, discovery, and gratitude—and it continues to remind me that art has the power to lead us into places we never expected to go."

"A star can be explained, measured, and named, yet it can still make us pause,
still make us believe, still make us feel less alone."
My middle name is Starr, and for as long as I can remember, I have felt a quiet connection to the stars. Maybe it began with my name, or maybe my name simply gave shape to something I already carried inside me. When I look up at the night sky, I do not just see distant lights scattered across darkness. I see reminders of wonder, of mystery, and of all the beautiful things we cannot fully explain. Stars have been around since the beginning of time, burning in the vastness long before any of us were here to gaze at them. For centuries, people have studied them, followed them, wished on them, and searched them for meaning. Scientists can tell us how stars are formed from clouds of gas and dust, how gravity pulls them together, and how heat and pressure ignite them into light. Others may see stars through a more spiritual or ethereal lens, believing they are signs, guides, or pieces of something greater than ourselves.
I think both explanations can be beautiful. Science gives us the mechanics of creation, but wonder gives us the feeling of it. And when I think about what stars truly are—not just what they are made of, but what they mean—I come back to one belief that feels truest to me: stars are made of love and magic. They are made of love because they shine without asking anything in return. They remind us of people we miss, dreams we still hold, and hopes we are brave enough to whisper into the dark. They are made of magic because no matter how much we learn about them, they never lose their mystery. A star can be explained, measured, and named, yet it can still make us pause, still make us believe, still make us feel less alone. So when I say stars are important to me, I mean more than the word itself. I mean that they feel like part of my story. They are a symbol of where I have come from, what I believe in, and the light I hope to carry with me. My middle name is Starr, and I like to think that somewhere in that name is a reminder to keep shining, to keep wondering, and to keep believing in love and magic even when the world feels dark.

Inspiration for The Fairy and the Little Bird...
"I grew up in the South and took “White Gloves and Party Manners,” where I learned early on how important it was to show respect through the way I spoke and treated others. As I grew up, people often complimented me on my manners, and those lessons stayed with me. Using good manners and treating people with kindness have always been values I try to live by. When I would babysit, I worked hard to teach the children to use their manners too—not just by reminding them to say “please” and “thank you,” but by helping them understand that polite words and thoughtful actions can make other people feel respected and cared for. I wanted them to see manners as more than rules; I wanted them to see manners as a way of showing kindness."
